Tips for collecting sponsorships
- Start early. Start collecting your sponsors today!
- Give your sponsors a flyer with the project description on the back so they'll know what they are supporting.
- Tell sponsors your funding goal (suggested minimum is $100 per dancer), but accept any amount. Tell them that 100% of the money goes to the Consuelo Buitrago Health Clinic in Nicaragua and that in these times, it feels good to know our dollars are supporting such an exciting, successful, and worthy project. You can also tell them that:
- $3 vaccinates a child
- $5 buys a doctor's visit
- $25 trains a health promoter
- $50 buys medicines for 10 people
- $300 pays a doctor's salary for a month.
- Let sponsors know that you or your team is dancing for 10 hours. They will appreciate your hard work.
- Be creative in approaching people. Send an e-mail to your whole e-mail list. Ask all your family members, ask friends, neighbors, co-workers. Ask people at parties, church, the gym, anywhere you go.
- Request payment in advance. Checks can be made payable to
Central American Women's Fund. All contributions are fully tax-deductible . Turn your money in to your Team Leader or to Jill Winegardner on or before November 17.
- Contact Jill Winegardner at (831) 768-7004 or jwinegardner@sbcglobal.net if you need more flyers or sponsorship sheets, or go to our brand new website, www.santacruzdanceathon.org .
